I tried to remember the guy's name that carried the gremlin with him during Laura and almost got trapped. Anyone?

I feel your pain, 50 yrs of history is going to be snatched away like it never existed tomorrow. I drank pretty heavily about it last night. Now can do nothing but prepare.

Stay safe wherever you are.

Katrina was so big and powerful it actually killed itself because it got too powerful.
so if Ida is moving faster and stays slightly less powerful so it stays organized over warm water it potentially will be worse because it won’t kill itself?

That’s a nightmare

No clue.

I just remember the guy that was in a parking garage for Laura and he swore the whole thing was gonna collapse the whole time. He was like screaming the entire time he was in it

Great question, so tornadoes are going to typically stay on the right front side, even in the eyewall.

But there are also tornado like rotations in the eyewall of intense hurricanes, and those dont care what quad theyre in and they do tornado like damage to good well built structures.

I invited my family to come stay with me in LC. They refused because they didn't want to fight the traffic.

I've watched the eastern end of the I-10 congestion change over the last 4 hours from Baton Rouge to Crowley. If someone leaves NOLA within the next hour or so, they probably won't hit that crawl until Jennings or further west. There's even some green now west of Iowa, and US 90 is looking like a good alternative now from Crowley to Lake Charles.

people need to treat this like Katrina at this point.. if it isn’t as bad, great.. but there is a chance that is right up there.. prepare for the worst..

I agree with all of this, except I fear the time to prepare for the worst is basically over. Perhaps some people should just get in their car and get north by any route open, but anyone waking up tomorrow in southeast Louisiana is riding this thing out in their bed.

It’s just an awful situation and if by some grace New Orleans and our house escape with just a week of power outages this is still going to be a hard look in the mirror for us on if we can raise kids here. Just sick to my stomach atm.

Check out the radar with track overlay. The eye is tracking half out of the cone. Not halfway off track, halfway out of the cone. This is gonna go a tad to the west of ascension and Baton Rouge instead of right over. That’s gonna put the worst of it in those areas. Looks to me like it’s more than just a wobble.

I’m behind, rough night…had my hot water heater on one side of house bust. Thankfully drained out pan but had issues killing water to it. I skimmed the threads and appears it’s ramped up like expected correct?

Just making sure nothing insane has changed to cause me to alter my plan of staying in BR. I read a few post that caught my eye, obviously with the 1am coming that’s something to see but have y’all seen something else per comments I saw last 5 pages?

Really surprised they kept it at 115 honestly. I’m guessing when recon samples the NE quadrant we might get another advisory.

It is just a wobble though. Intensifying storm with the eye trying to shrink.
