Is it just me or is that north/east of the track?

I’m not to far from you and I am hoping the east track continues. I don’t wish this shite on anyone but 20-30 miles away on the good side of the storm makes a HUGE difference!!

Sounds like they don’t know why the speeds aren’t picking up with the pressure drops.

"The USAF have launched an 'emergency replacement flight' to take the place of the earlier cancelled USAF mission. Aircraft has departed San Antonio and is enroute to Ida. Either that or the original aircraft's issue was quickly resolved. Regardless, commendations are in order for whoever made that happen. Not often you see a 'second' mission take off in place of the first. "

10pm advisory still at 105mph

That is surprising. What’s keeping it from blowing up?

The pumps will be outpaced by the rainfall but if they all remain functional

They’re not even starting at functional, right? Did they get they lakeview pumps working. As of yesterday morning 2/3 weren’t working.

Of all the times for the NHC to go conservative on the wind speeds.

Alright, about to dig into the discussion.

Ida continues to move steadily to the northwest at about 14 kt. There has been little change to the track forecast rationale.

Good. Best case scenario for all of us is this thing doesn’t rapidly intensify. frick

I think a lot of people are getting caught up in category watching and not rainfall totals and raw wind speed. A strong cat 3 with 19" of rain is going to wreck shite. It doesn't matter if it doesn't hit 4

Nope none will be fixed in time. 1 is a major pump the other isn’t.

ETA: according to poster above I’m incorrect.
