Certainly true, wish we had recon out right now. I could see the core around a larger eye not being fully established, thus preventing Ida from maximizing the trip over the loop current. Have to wait and see.

Looks about right

My stove won't let me light the gas burners during a power outage

Hmmm....how does that work? I could see that your electric lighter wouldn’t work but how does it stop gas flow? If it’s just a lighter issue, use an actual lighter to light the stove. Turn knob, light flame near burner.

I don't quite understand that graphic, is it saying the right most solid blue line is where it would end up if it keeps tracking on the far east of guidance? Or is that an outlier or something else?

It is the most likely path of the center given the trends with satellite fixes on the center.

Overall, it is tracking to the Eastern side of model guidance.

Might be an artifact of reorganization but it matters at this point.

So that would place the center over Lake Ponchatrain? That would be a massive miss by the NHC at this point, no? Or would that be in the margin of error?

Its kind of screwy the way he words that because there are 2 blue lines.

I think those are his. Bounding lines for the path it will take based on trends in the mods. So the western blue line is the western most likely path.

My question as well. I just turn on the gas and light it manually when the power is out.

I thought the same thing, but we've never been able to light it in an outage. I did some digging and people complain about models similar to mine having a solenoid shutoff that stops gas flow in the event of an outage. Seems like a good idea as long as you don't live in SELA.

SHREVEPORT...!

To be fair, I just filled up 2 cans in north central LA, but only because I’m about to mow the yard.

We have to follow the trends to see if it is a "wobble" or it is a true track shift.
