LaToya sucks but it’s genuinely hilarious to me that some of you retards think that the decision about whether to make effectively the entire interstate system in Louisiana one way out of the state was left up to the mayor of New Orleans

If they ship out refugees, I mean evacuees, from New Orleans after the storm, where will they go this time?
Houston is closed. Lo siento NOLA baws.

Luckily I’m quite sure the feds won’t be involved in power restoration efforts.
These power companies that coordinate these efforts are very good at how they handle this

We have a room booked in west Texas just in case. No plans to leave now, though

I just woke up where is the storm coming ashore at? Same Houma/MC? Did it shift East/west?

Yea the news just showed the I-59/I-10 split and it’s a parking lot.

They basically have to give worst case scenario to get the low lying people to leave. A Cat 2 in Terrebone is still going to be really bad surge wise.

When the HWRF comes up I will feel better. That model has been really good the past couple years on intensity and the 06z still had 943mb at landfall.

TWC is reporting this.
Okay, I will be ignoring this like I do all things related to TWC.

Understandable. The category system really should be done away with because dumb people latch on to it, but at the same time they need it because the other metrics are too difficult to understand.

A little earlier there was a wreck there that had one late shut down. Sucks for that to happen

Holy shite, weather Channel just said more likely to be a CAT 2 than a 4.
It’s probably a 2 now or about to be.

If yall are trying to go East to Mobile,
I'd consider driving 59 to Poplarville, then take MS SR26 to US98, then head into Mobile from that way.

TWC is showing 100 mph in New Iberia but their little corner graphic shows Lafayette getting 60 mph gusts .... that can't be right, right ?

TWC’s wind graphic had another typo. It is the colorful one that shows the wind gust potential. The orange and yellow layers show the same wind speed.
