Yeah we did nothing but cookouts and card games since family all lives in the same area. Was a lot of fun during the day, at night we had a generator to run some box fans as the adults got the window units

Yeah it definitely got people closer. But the stress man,.....

Well im just glad you were young at the time.

A lot of wild card evacuations going on throughout Southern Louisiana. I just heard a second source reference Angola inmates being potentially bussed in the upcoming hours to the Thomas Assembly in Ruston. You would think Angola is inland enough?!?!?

Normally I wouldn’t care and I’d be willing to ride it out and see what happens but we have a 2 year old and a 7 year old to consider

Keep the kids in New Orleans with you unless something changes. Walker will likely be worse.

Probably evacuating to facilities that will have power after the storm.

As a resident of LP, one thing i can say is that much of Walker didn’t flood in 16. If flooding is a concern where you live (did it flood with Katrina or any time since?), then i would consider evacuating. If not, and you have enough supplies for at least a week, you’ll be ok.

Wait until it strengthens. You can see the cold tops really expanding at the end of the IR loop.

I’m not too concerned about flooding it’s the wind and tornadoes leveling shite that scares me

I sat through 110+ mph winds for zeta last year in plaquemines parish.... don’t want to do that anymore

Had a couple missiles at my previous house in Slidell from Katrina. Had 2 or 3 holes in my roof from 2-4” branches. They were just sticking out the roof like spears - punctured straight through the shingles and clean through the plywood. Wouldn’t want to be standing near a window if one of those came through.

Still too early for accurate wind forecasts.

A modular tiny house. Putting extra cinder blocks around the base of it.

NOLA should not be under a mandatory evacuation and contraflow would be ridiculous, unless it's some road coming from Buras.
