Sure why not. My leaning is to go an alternate route but wanted to get an idea from others how much of a shite show the SE Louisiana route is likely to be.

Instead of being a dick, you might consider...not being a dick

for 100+ MPH wind it will be wet enough to take down a lot of trees.

If baron rouge gets 100 mph sustained winds, we are all fricked

I’m not trying to be a dick, but Lafayette doesn’t seem like a great option for evacuating. I would push it to Houston.

Obviously this goes for well south of I-10....I'd highly doubt BR sees those kind of sustained winds....like you said if they do a lot of people should pucker up and kiss their arse goodbye.

We may very well be looking at a Cat 4+.

Even if it stays a 3 should I be booking it?

That depends on how much you want to be stuck at home with a 3 and 2 year old without power for an extended period of time. If it were me, I would probably leave.

If you are worried about flooding in Nola you would probably be better off staying at a hotel in Metairie than going to Lafayette IMO

Bob Breck saying "Ida could be a Cat. 4 or 5 since she'll be going over the warm loop current."

That seems way stronger than anyone else has been predicting, no?

Roughly 60 miles east of landfall of a Cat 4 ain't a great place to be.

He also told everyone we were all going to die once, Bob likes to blow things up a little more than most

Why all the way to Houston? Just stay in Lake Charles or Beaumont

I am much better armed than I was for Gustav.
