Making a shrimp and crab gumbo with a tweaked acadiantable recipe tonight.

Whenever non-Louisiana friends ask me for a good gumbo recipe, or etouffee, AcadianaTable.com is where I send them.

Thanks Amazon for delaying my RoundUp Pro until later this week. I missed the entire dry window.

We def took Ida on the chin in Houma. And it was def a Cat 5 at landfall.

Really starting to believe the NWS is in bed with the insurance companies……. Tin foil hat on

Ida was a clusterfrick on so many levels. Good thing Governor Sloth reminded us that masking was the most important thing to survive the hurricane.

Weather channel just had a streamer across the bottom of the screen with.....

(not verbatim but close)

4 to 6 foot tidal surge will inundate certain areas along the coast

followed by

30 to 50 MPH wind gust will blast homes along the coast.

I already have friends around the country texting me to make sure I will be OK and asking my plan to handle the water, lol. Must be a slow news cycle.

This might be their only chance this year to tell us we're all going to die.

Well, it is getting stronger and is slow moving....and additional watches and warnings COULD be issued later today.

Headed out in a few to grab bread, milk, water and TP.

We served in Prairieville for Ida. I remember having to wear that stupid mask in the 140* kitchen. A cop or sheriff deputy kept stopping by and would tell me I had to wear it. It was hot enough in that trailer to kill the virus.

Hottest trip we have ever been on. Great people though. Shout out to Fellowship Church and Pastor Kirk. If the need ever arises we would go back there in a heartbeat.

I think Ida might be this area's new benchmark hurricane for everyone who wasn't alive during Betsy. She maintained lots of intensity further inland than most hurricanes do, and the eyewall penetrated lots of the area even as it was still a category 2/3 hurricane.
