Sitting in traffic headed West on I26 out of Charleston. Traffic is pretty terrible, but they have not changed the direction of traffic on the other side yet. We passed about 200 school buses headed to evacuate people.

The lane reversal is supposed to happen at 3:00. I'm still at work right now, VA closes at noon.

Latest recon doesn't show many changes since last advisory. I don't reckon much regarding intensity will change with the next advisory that should be issued within the next 45 minutes.

Only a mattet of time, sat and radar products show very intense convection with lots of lightning building around eye. RI may be on the table for later today.

Where at? I'm from NOLA and have sat through some big hurricanes but in Destrehan. Still trying to figure out on James Island what to do but leaning towards staying. If we leave, it will be late.

I live in Shadowmoss, so the only reason we are thinking about evacuating is the flooding. I've only lived here 12 years, so haven't experienced staying through a hurricane down here. Heard when Hugo hit, electricity and water were out for 3 weeks, but that was '89.

the newest predictive models I have seen, has it weakening significantly if it follows the eastern seaboard route.

Nope, 11am update has it back up to 120mph with the pressure dropping. It weakened over Cuba, but is now getting stronger and faster.

How far will the reversal go? I-95? Or all the way up to I-77?

If UF DOES decide to keep it at home I wonder if LSU would consider forfeit like UT did in 2005? Fulmer was quoted as saying he wouldn't fly with his own kids in that weather so why would he fly with his "other" kids???

I want LSU to keep our people safe ...

I don't see how they could host the game with a state of emergency declared. Seems like it would open up the school to serious liability.

Maybe that's why they're dragging their feet. They're playing chicken and hoping we flinch first.

How stupid can the Florida admins be? No electricity, no emergency personnel, and they are clinging to the game as scheduled? Could they maybe have their priorities a little screwed up? Move it to Tiger Stadium already!!!

He wasn't speaking of the Monday ... he was talking about other options of when to fly in. And yes it was as hot as monkey balls as my brother would say. Not sure if I've ever been that hot at a football game. MISERABLE.

You think Coach O would forfeit, lose his chance at a play-off birth and lose any hope he has of becoming head coach? You might be delusional?

All I'm saying is there is a 2005 article linked "somewhere" in one of these threads that Fulmer said YES they considered it if there were no other safe options.

20 feet, if true is really concerning for that area. How far does everything back up? That's the problem. We won't know until it happens. Pray for low tide when it passes.

I'd be prepared for the worst. I had a river in my back yard in 2002 I think and I was just back up to a swamp Creek head all the way in town.
