It used to be common knowledge that storm drains are for discarding used oil and handguns

I don't think that's how an oil change is supposed to work...

Got hit with $62 and change at checkout
OP, there's an auto shop on South Sherwood basically across from the Baskin Robbins that has a sign advertising $60 oil changes with up to 5 quarts of full synthetic.

No idea on their brand of oil/filter, but if you're using Penzoil and STP, I would imagine that doesn't much matter.

Mobil1 full synthetic and Wix here. IDGAF if it costs more.

I haven’t bought a battery for a vehicle in 15 years probably, due to I usually trade every 3 years but found a truck that I want to keep so I bounced into Autozone expecting to pay about $80 bucks for a battery. Boy was I in for a wake up

I like to do my oil myself. I also like to check things under the car and make notes of maintence needs. I also like to rub used oil on all the metal parts.

With a coupon I get that at Valvoline for around 80. Totally worth it not have to bother doing it myself.

My local mechanic is $62.50 for synthetic up to 5 quarts.

I just bought a Frontier, it takes 5.3 quarts. Most engines now days take over 5 quarts. Its time for oil companies to start producing 6 or 8 quart jugs so you don't have to buy extra quarts of oil.

s now a $100 pop for her.

Eh...how many miles though.

As a young hellion, oil changes happened every 3-4k miles.

Now I pay ~$80 for 10k (3 old oil changes) and I don't have to take old oil anywhere (used to run it along fence line weeds) or deal with these low arse cars anymore.

Oil prices went up drastically a few months ago. Rotella T6 went from $22-$25 to $35-$40 per gallon. Many of the parts stores will price match or at least they used to.

There is this war in Iran that has shot oil prices up a few months ago.

You might have heard about it

Find a Walmart with a tire shop attached. Buy some groceries you were already going to buy anyway. Instead of walking out the front, you go to the back, ask the clerk of couple of dumb questions so you are on video inquiring about auto service, get the oil and filter you want off the shelf and into your cart, then walk back to the front of the store and show the guy your receipt for your groceries and he won't even notice the stolen oil and filter. The eye in the sky in the LP office won't be watching you because you just spent time at the auto service desk. Put the oil and filter in your cart before talking to the auto clerk.

This isn't rocket science yall.

Local Costco had their full synthetic oil on sale $31 for two 5 quart jugs. Not a bad price.

A rocker arm for my Ford is $35 each wholesale! $65 each direct from dealership! Should be $10. They don’t want you to fix your own car.

5 quarts of Mobil 1 is $32, and an oil filter is $8 at Walmart.
