This is absolutely distracting. I don't get why he does it. No one talks this way. I mtrafing one of his more famous books right now and I'm enjoying it but these weird sayings are awful.

I've heard it stated that King is a extremely talented story teller, but only a mediocre writer. Maybe that could explain it.

Speaking of things like that, I always liked Pat Conroy's (RIP) books, but never liked how his characters talked.

They were always super-witty to the point of disbelief.

Just started book 3 of the dark tower series. 2nd one was a chore to get through but now a quarter through the 3rd and it's getting really interesting
