I think is what he is referring to...he says it multiple times

Stephen King makes me never want to go to Maine. Not for the supernatural shite, which I find mildly ridiculous. He just makes the place seem so bleak.

You realize people tend to say the same stuff over and over again.....catchphrases essentially....I had a boss that would say "At the end of the day" about 4 dozen times in a single convo.

King is one of the worst 'literary' writers there is. He comes up with interesting stories, but his writing style and characters are simplistic and he describes every part of each scene in agonizing detail (using very basic descriptive words to boot).
7th graders 100 years ago could write with more beautiful prose than he.

I enjoy trash movies...not trash books.

judging by the examples you presented you just might be on to something chief.

It's not that bad to me in the books but when they show up in the movies it's horrible. Dreamcatcher was the worst

That's nothing compared to writing himself into his own book as a character. Just terrible.
Posted on 1/13/17 at 7:08 pm to Jackalope
Nothing has taught me how needlessly wordy people are than learning a new language. They rattle off a whole bunch of paragraphs and when I finally get the gist it boils down to "this car breaks a lot."
frick it's annoying.

Is Trash Can the one who keeps saying "I wish I could piss it?" I used that one a little in middle school or high school when I finally finished The Stand.

After reading the Stand, I remember wanting to go to Ogunquit. Still want to do that someday.

You don't think Larry says (or thinks) some stupid shite, that is supposed to be kind of smart assy catchy?
I always noticed a good bit of this in King's books..but he is a horror writer, and a geek. I can look over some stupid dialogue.
