re: stay at home/part time worker house dads

Wife got a big promotion at her company and we are moving to Kansas City at the beginning of the year. I put my notice in few weeks ago and next Monday will be my last day. For awhile at least I'll be a stay at home dad until we get settled. Might try to do some photography stuff once we get up there, but really don't have to go back to work. I'll have to be flexible whatever it is though since she might have to travel and we have no family up there to help with our 2 yr old.

I am doing this on a temporary basis right now (no kids though). Got my bachelors, got married. Can't find a job in my field at all. Nothing. And I graduated in a STEM field with a 3.5 gpa, research experience, etc. So I stay at home, do the chores, cleaning, etc until I go back for my 2nd degree next month. It's been an easy 6 months for sure

I have a former friend who is like that, but he got laid off and got really depressed after that. Got a big promotion, bought a new house, laid off 6 months later, now living off his wife's family's money. I think she might "work" 2 or three times a week, but they just run the kids around and argue the rest of the time. He is depressed most of the time now, but would get manic sometimes if we were gonna go out and do something

And people wonder why our taxes are so high. Someone should not be able to retire at age 50, with lifetime pension and benefits. That's fricking robbery.

It takes 2 working adults to afford to raise kids sometimes these days, but you better believe that if your woman is going out to work and you are staying at home, she sees you, deep down, as less of a man.

And more than likely she's getting deep dicked by someone else on the side.

I'm hoping to be in this situation soon. My wife is about to buy 1/2 of a company in January. She said she might buy a couple rent houses for me to play with when I quit working.

We shall see.

What kind of doctor?

Eta: I ask because most doctors don't make enough for me to stay home

I kind of am in this situation. I'm 40 and retired military after 20 years. I have been very smart with money and own a business. But I really don't work but 1 day a week because I have a good staff.

My wife is an RN so she only works 3 days a week so we do a lot of screwing off together.

I'm a SAHM and do all of this (house projects, lawn maintenance) too. No car maintenance Thank God since we have late model cars. No need to be a doctor's spouse to make this lifestyle happen, just have to not spend like money is water.
