Women can’t stay at home now because they so few domestic skills. They are so liberated and educated, they don’t know how to make an omelette or a roast.

I was a SAHD for 2 years. I loved every single day. After 15 years working 2 jobs it was an absolute cake walk. 100% would recommend.
Thankfully, I married a successful woman who loves corporate work. So, I got to stay home instead of overpaying for daycare.
I golfed 2 times a week, slept til 9 or 10 most mornings, made the snacks + most meals (she is a good cook & enjoys doing it, so I handled dishes), did the laundry, mowed the yard et al.
We went to the park most every day, checked stuff out around town, etc.
Great work if you can get it.
My problem is with the amount of complaining & sympathy searching these moms are clamoring for. Can you imagine botching about your day job like that? The ridicule you'd get it amazing.

If it’s a full time job, does that mean single people hold two jobs?

I don’t know any stay at home moms that ask for sympathy or even comment about it being hard. My wife has several friends who are stay at home moms and one point my wife was, not one of them made any kind of deal out of it
ETA: Just b/c someone made a stupid blog doesn’t mean most of them think that way

The majority of “stay at home” parents are bored. That’s why they create drama and things to bitch about.

I’ll be a stay at home dad with an OT 8 nanny doing all the legwork while I smoke pot and play league of legends all day. Assuming I was OT balling

In this modern world the powers at be don’t want a woman to be a traditional woman. Because with the traditional unit, the man providing and protecting and the wife at home taking care of the children and the household, there’s a sense of autonomy, independence.
They want dependence to the govt in every facet. They want the “daddy” to be the government, not the father. Because without a strong father figure leading, people are led by the one doling out the largesse

Stay at home mom’s should be in every household.
Stay at home dad’s should be shot.

I just tell people I am semi retired. Love the look when you mention retired and then they ask your age. It has been almost a year and it is exponentially easier to stay at home than be an engineer in an office. My hunting property has been getting much needed love and my yard maintenance game has stepped up. My cooking skills are also much improved. I haven’t felt this much freedom since college. I highly recommend it to anyone that can make it happen. On the other side though the wife is already hinting about me going back to work.

Seems to me I’ve heard this message before in some propaganda films of the 19th century Eastern Europe. Anything that stands in opposition to the central government being supreme is to be expunged, including but not limited to faith, strong male figures, strong family unit, education that is not government controlled, unapproved freedom of thought and expression, etc, etc...
Dysfunctionality serves those lusting for more power and control over their subjects, and as I survey the world around me, it looks as if it’s full speed ahead. Look to daddy government for everything in your lives. That’s the message. That’s the course we’ve plotted for ourselves.

You never hear Stay At Home Dads with this type of hypocritical drivel.
I've got a neighbor that's a stay at home dad. Hes a brit, his wife is a "spruce root hunter."
He's skinny, nerdy and socially awkward, she's pretty damn good looking. The kid is about a year old.
He doesn't complain though.

Honestly I couldn’t imagine being a stay at home dad. Im way too antsy as it is, it’d drive me fricking nuts being at home all day. I’d feel worthless.
My buddy is a stay at home Dad and he’s miserable.
His wife is a Doc so they have cash but he hates it.

Nah, spruce root art is a big thing in the NW. She makes damn good money.

but let’s not pretend it’s as hard as some of them make it out to be.
I’ve done both. Taking care of a kid and the house is certainly draining, but it’s not nearly as stressful and soul sucking as a real job. There’s really no comparison.

I have a friend in the exact same scenario, and he loves it. He loves to cook though and makes big extravagant meals almost every day. Planning the meal, going to the store and prepping the meal is a big part of day, and he involves the 2 kids as much as he can. Going to the store every day would get old, but he doesn't seem to mind. He does say the area stay at home moms are very cliquish and standoffish when he's tried to connect with them for play groups and outings and such.
He's already stressing about what he's going to do when the youngest starts kindergarten this fall.
