"By selecting a handful of jobs that reflect a day in the life of a mom and pulling the market compensation data for those same roles, Salary.com determined that the median annual salary of a mother for 2018 is $162,581"
"In addition to traditional roles like performing the duties of a cook, housekeeper, nurse, and nutritionist, moms are expected to sharpen their knowledge around computers, tablets, smartphones, and social media"

Mine couldn't log on to her email account yesterday without my help.
I'd say it's worth whatever the price of daycare is.

So now we can say that salary inequality is no longer an issue?

How do Dads that work all day then and come home and have to do 1/3 to 1/2 of what "moms" claim to be doing throughout the day because the "moms" are just so "frazzled" from the kids all day they need a brake and couldn't get all everything done factor into that equation?

How much should her boss make?
Its simply an estimate (in a high cost of living area) of how much you would have to pay to get those same services in lieu of that mom
A fathers income would also be greatly inflated if you factored in his duties around the house
Yea it is, but its also a JOKE. Probably 90% of the stay at home moms I know "sub out" most of the services this dumbass lists and guess who pays that bill? This is great, make stay at home moms feel valuable, but the unintended consequences are that across the country a bunch yogapant wearing, tennis lesson taking, unfaithful frick machines will be bucking for a RAISE.

As Rodney Dangerfield says, “where are these widgets made? Fantasy land?”

Dating single moms is a bad idea. Because if you do, you will never come first or second in her life. Her kids come first, the father of her kids comes 2nd, then maybe you will come 3rd.
Wow. Even if she shows how much she loves you after 3 weeks by suggesting you adopt her kids?

They're attributing them salary for shite that everyone who works a full time job also has to do for themselves. I also have to clean, cook, and run errands... and have to work a full time 8-5 job that requires overtime as necessary.

Jesus, inflation. Edith Bunker only wanted $1/week, which still seems about right.

The Bill Burr bit on this is so funny.

Before marriage and kids I would have called BS on this. However, my wife is worth a good chunk of change when she stayed home. After having kids, career changes, moving to new homes, and other things you really see how flexible you can be with someone who is home. I never lose sick days or vacation days due to things popping up and I can work more over time.
Now, the women who stay home and have maids, blow money, and still take their kids to a “mommy’s day out” aren’t worth much.

I better not get. $40k bill from the tax man.

I guess my wife needs to quit her job because she doesn’t make close to what a stay at home mom makes!

That’s some expensive sandwiches

So is a stay at home dad worth more? You know, wage gap and all.

None of you will dispute this with your wife though because you wanna frick em

So......
Picking up Little Ceasar's Pizza = cook?
Yelling at the kids to pick up their clothes but not making them do it = housekeeper?
Giving them benadryl so they will sleep = nurse?
Gaining 5-10 lbs a year after the last child is born = nutritionist?

Ok , lady. Next time instead of handing me this list that hopelessly over- monetizes your “ value “ , just tell me you are too PMSed by nature to get a proper job. Yes dear, I will continue to improve your status and give you the security you crave. Just try to act like less of a hero as you exploit my resources.
