"By selecting a handful of jobs that reflect a day in the life of a mom and pulling the market compensation data for those same roles, Salary.com determined that the median annual salary of a mother for 2018 is $162,581"

"In addition to traditional roles like performing the duties of a cook, housekeeper, nurse, and nutritionist, moms are expected to sharpen their knowledge around computers, tablets, smartphones, and social media"

Maybe, if both my wife and I stay at home, we can eventually be in the elusive top 1%. I should be well compensated since my duties will be home security, lawn maintenance, handyman, pest control, mechanic, furniture/appliance mover, barber, janitor....

I guess this is why you see "Mom" listed as occupation on so many single mom Tinder profiles.

Never date single moms.

I don’t know how to measure my job as a daily sperm donor to these stay-at-home moms.

How do they buy the food, medical supplies, vitamins, smart phones, tablets, or computers? You can't be worth any of that shite without an actual income. What a bunch of fricks.

Yeah....so if the mom is going to be a nurse to the child, the child is suppose to pay the mom?

Mom to child: I didn't cure you because of love, it's just strictly business. Here's the bill.

this is one of the dumbest things I've ever read. That'd be like saying I drive to and from work everyday, so I'm going to pull data on how much a NASCAR driver makes to estimate what my salary should be.

It's simply what you would pay someone to do everything that the mother does.

The father also has a value for household/family duties which is not listed in the article.

And, if either/both work outside the home, there is an additional amount to add to the amounts listed above.

No issue with a parent staying home with the child before they reach school age, but how can you justify it once they're in school?

My SIL does this and since their youngest is now in school, it's such a joke.

If they can afford it, why not? It makes life much easier.

Don’t have to worry about sick days, holidays, summer, etc

Its simply an estimate (in a high cost of living area) of how much you would have to pay to get those same services in lieu of that mom

A fathers income would also be greatly inflated if you factored in his duties around the house

But none of that full-time. You can't spend 1 minute giving your child some Tylenol and compare yourself to a full-time nurse. This is stupid and I'm sure everyone knows that, minus a few stay at home moms out there. But I'd guess most agree this is dumb.

Dating single moms is a bad idea. Because if you do, you will never come first or second in her life. Her kids come first, the father of her kids comes 2nd, then maybe you will come 3rd.

Not worth having to raise another man's kid for.
