Where are the OT’ers that are always demanding the death penalty for 1st offense DWI? Those guys should love this.

People are still going to buy the same quantities of alcohol but at cost, raising revenue.
Thats also ignoring the bigger revenue for the increase in DWI's due to a lower BAC. DWIs are expensive. Its a money grab for all involved from legal fees, court fines, jail, even some states seize and sell your vehicle if youre caught driving under the influence, which will be a lot easier in the near future.

I understand, but my point is if you’re only after money, just increase the sales tax on booze and there would be no need to decrease the BAC limit.
What this ignores is that if a guy with a .20 BAC was willing to drive before the law changed, he’ll still be willing to drive.

Absolutely.
The other point I neglected to bring up was the upswing in revenue from DWI's between car seizure, fines, legal fees, court fees, mandated MADD classes (who also stand to benefit here), etc. Its a racket all the way around for all involved.

You seem to still hold to the idea that it is for safety.
It simply would expand the number of people charged with DUIs due to the lower level, this increasing the cash flow there as well.
This is a money grab, not safety. They even state that in the report.
It hits on your point and increases the DUI ticketing cash flow as well.

I dont have a car, so this wont affect me (fortunately theres no law against riding the subway after drinking).
But this will affect a lot of people who shouldnt be pulled over to begin with.
