I don't think phones should work in a running vehicle. If they get serious about the carnage from phones and cars, it should be done. If you get caught circumventing it, they take your phone, and your car. I'm fine with it.

Are you going to ban stereos too?

I don't even need to touch my phone in the car b/c I have blue tooth w/voice activation.

Serious question - have any of you ever been pulled over on suspicion of DUI when you hadn't drank/smoked?

Yes.

Twice.

if they want to increase revenue they should go after the people causing the most accidents. Texting and driving.

Literally the worst offenders on the road for this are cops themselves. Almost every one I pass is either texting/on the phone or working a goddamn laptop while driving.

Why don’t they just try banning alcohol?! Nothing will reduce alcohol deaths more than banning it!

Ban the cars! Don't forget the cars!

Or, people could just stop drinking and driving. Whatever. Kind of hard to believe something so inconsequential would be the hill you guys seen to be willing to die on. There's just too many innocent folks dying, just so people can feel free to drink and be irresponsible.

I wonder how these "scientists" explain European countries having a lower drinking age, more per capita consumption, and safer roads.
