This. His podcasts are surprisingly mediocre but he is really incredibly good at standup.

You’re the guy who still thinks Adam Sandler is funny and recites the Andrew Dice Clay rhymes every time you drink one too many Zima’s.

Mitch Hedberg and Patrice O’Neal. Patrice owned the stage and Mitch set the standard for delivery. I have no interest in seeing it live but they were both masters. RIP

I don't keep up much w/standups now.

Dave Chapelle's TV show is one of the most ridiculously overpraised things I've ever seen. But I've never seen his standup, so I can't comment on that.

Bill Cosby was funny. Brother Dave Gardner was funny.
So what you mean is today's standups aren't funny? Because that's totally different from what you originally wrote.

And is that the first Brother Dave Gardner reference in TD history?

Jim Gaffagin can be funny.
Aaaaand you've already contradicted your thread title.

He is outstanding. Easily one of my favorite stand up comics of all time.

For comics going right now besides Burr, I really like Jim Norton and Bert Kreischer. They are hilarious. Norton's segment about Penn State/Paterno made me almost piss myself from laughing.

Burr and Norton also did a bit on Opie and Anthony about 15 years ago called the sex offender game. It's the funniest thing I've ever heard in my life.

I think Mitch's delivery was mostly a result of his anxiety issues. Hilarious nonetheless.

And 'Elephant in the room' might be the funniest hour of anything I've ever watched.

Not all of them are funny. But I've had good laughs at shows and random open mics

Probably not your thing. Doesn't mean they aren't funny.

Patrice O’Neal

Goddamn, I miss him. That dude was legitimately one of the top five funniest and sharpest comedians I've ever seen. Every now and then you could catch him during an interview when he would slip out of comedian mode and just talk about what he thought and the way his mind worked was just brilliant. His ability to debate and argue stunned me.

Listen to his appearances on Opie and Anthony. Dude was a straight street philosopher. Uncanny insight in to women.
