Guy on tv this morning was talking about the need to own schools — said that SCIENCE shows that kids aren’t transmitting the virus. Said that if they want to accept one piece of science they need to accept it all.

They’re not going to teach anything online
All of these poor Louisiana public schools didn’t teach anything online in the Spring when they sent everyone home.
Some students don’t have access and the schools said frick it. The fall won’t be any different if they go this route.

We just did summer enrichment and hosted summer school online and I was pleasantly surprised how good it ended up being, all taught virtual from the public school teachers
The access is provided by the stimulus
The technology is there, maybe it's time to evolve the classroom into the 21st century, colleges do it and all this ends up being is a bitch fest about parents having to work, from the same people who complain how useless teachers are and how school is glorified babysitting

I would think a parish like St Landry will have a lot of issues executing online learning with any effectiveness due to logistics and costs. The more rural and poor districts are going to suffer the most.

Found our first teacher who doesn’t want to go to work but continue to get paid. People have to stop putting their hands out. It’s time to go back to work. I don’t think my 2nd grader and kindergarten child need to be at home with no socialization all year. How can daycares and summer camps stay open but schools can’t. The answer is that they only get paid when they’re open. If schools close, teachers shouldn’t get paid.
