I hope this is the impetus of change in the EBR education system

Five years down the road a successful St George could become the epicenter of a revolutionary civic movement.

This goes to ballet it would pass no?

...or should Prairieville still be on high alert?

Unless they let the ones that drew lines for the COA vote do it, in that case all is lost.

Hotel/ motel tax
Parish transportation fund (state taxes)
And yes federal taxes.

Also those folks who own property in the CATS district which does include Baker btw, but live in SG pay the CATS tax.

The only way to curtail BREC, the Library Board, the COA and the other parish taxes is to win the votes and s growing, expanding SG along with Zachary and Central and other conservative areas is our only means for winning those votes.
I think it's our last option.

It's happening baws!

I would be remiss, if I didn't take this opportunity to THANK all those who made this possible:

First and foremost, THANK YOU Mayor Broome for your complete incompetence.

THANK YOU, COA, for your thievery!

And THANK YOU to the EBR Schoolboard for showing your ignorance and incompetence with the refusal for the ExxonMobil ITEP.

And a huge THANK YOU to the obvious race agenda displayed by Chauna Banks, Donna Collins Lewis, Erika Green, LaMont Cole on the Metro Council.

And THANK YOU Together Baton Rouge! You continue to be a wonderful instrument in making the dreams of St George come true!

...we couldn't have done it without each of you!

THE NEXT GREAT CITY OF ST GEORGE

Village of St George is a census designated area of EBR Parish. I remember learning about the area as a boy back in the early 60s.

St. George Fire Dept. spun off of that.

We live in the city limits but I still hope this happens.

So do you get a vote once on the ballet then? Or just people within the purposed StG perimeter?

Wondering what the next steps are. Just an outsider looking in, intrigued by how this happens. Doesnt hurt that it's sticking it to dumbass govt folks.

Only people within the proposed StG can vote on incorporating.

Sucks because I was in on the previous attempt but I'm in no man's land on this one.

This is what its all about at the core. NOT because the petitioners are angry racist meanies. It if ever follows through, it will help those with kids be able to make BR their home for at least a few more years until BR as a whole turns into Jackson Ms.

I haven't done anything really accept try and study the issues and voice my opinion by bringing facts to the situation at hand.

We have many good posters here that do as much or more.

I've lived in EBR all my life. I grew up in the city and moved out into the burbs.

My kids have kids now. One is hoping his kids leave the state when they are if age. They live in SG, but he doesn't believe the decay can be arrested.

I keep telling him SG, Zachary and Central along with other hard working folks in the parish can build enough political strength to fight back. It's my great hope.

For those more knowledgeable on this, what kind of time frame is expected for everything here? Obviously an ISD would take a lot longer, but how long? When do you believe a special election could be held and how long after an approval would things take to really get going?
