WOW! Congrats everyone! DoubleD is probably outside doing cartwheels hearing this news. He's been wanting his taxpayer money to be used properly for sometime now.

Let’s see if JBE signs it. The timing is awesome, this is a real political turd for him. He’s going to either offend his base, or make it especially clear to everyone who his base is. Or live up to his likeness and retreat into his shell. Anyone know how long he has to mull over this?

EBR schools are 19M in hole this year. They had to raid the reserves to make ends meet. Next year they wont have the luxury of raiding the reserve fund to fund the EBR parish schools as only 7M will be left. Factor in the St. George announcement they are scrambling.
They refuse to acknowledge they have so many bloated adminstrative position. They have about twice as money as the Cyfair and Katy ISDs in Houston area per student. But Houston area ISDs spend about 4K less per student and get amazing results.
