Pierson said Tuesday that if that's the case, St. George should pay back for the services provided by Baton Rouge during that time.
"I guarantee our number is bigger than theirs," Pierson said. "We've been cutting the grass and fixing the streets for the last four years, and they're not going to pay for it?"
If St. George is such a drain on Baton Rouge, it sounds like a win for her side to not have to support STG anymore

So now after 5 years of arguing in court that St. George will be the financial ruin of Baton Rouge, she’s saying that the services they’ll no longer provide to St. George actually cost more than the lost tax revenue?
Good luck with that.
I don’t live in St. George and this incorporation will probably be a negative for me, but honestly.. frick these people.

Remind me again… isn’t public works a PARISH function?

The demographics within the boundaries are not all white, but man this looks terribly racist.
St. George has been called racist from day 1. It could have been all black people on the council and articles would have still been written that “white” St George is breaking away from “black” Baton Rouge.

The NAACP’s Baton Rouge chapter released a statement shortly after the press conference saying St. George’s plan “poses significant risks to our education system, threatens the continuity of critical programs, and challenges community representation.”

For some reason I was not surprised when I Googled their pictures.

Yeah I mean it’s pretty nonsensical all around. She’s catering to the low-information folks and national news outlets that don’t actually understand anything about St. George. But if you actually pay attention it becomes clear that they’re throwing shite at the wall to see what sticks.

The bitch lives in St. George.

Do you think the average guy who minds his own business and wants to live a decent life and see the rewards of his labor gives a flying frick about some uppity dude’s opinion? You actually made the point of St George in that it’s normal middle class people who are tired of the bullshite and want to live a decent life.

MOP and her bosses are doing everything they can to run SG into the ground.
Disinformation, lawsuits, propaganda and lies are all coming from these people in a last gasp effort to keep power.
Think about it. It’s true.

What’s still frightening is that the vote was 4 - 3. Self governance is a paramount right in our form of government.

BR Leadership seems to absolutely be terrified of a detailed accurate accounting of the tax revenues collected for St George since the date election was won. Makes me wonder if there's something beyond the already well known financing of BRPD and BRFD hidden there.

Did you ask the upper class who live in St George? I doubt it because we love the idea.
Im most likely talking a class or three above you. Literally every rich mfer I've talked to hates the idea of St. George. They send their kids to Catholic/SJA. They live in gated communities (CCofLa). They're world is already nice and safe. They hate taxes more than you and they all vote conservative. Many own businesses and real estate in BR and don't want the city to turn into anymore of a shite hole than it already is. I don't give af one way or another about St. George. I just dont think its a lib vs conservative issue or as much of a black vs white issue as everyone is making it out to be. Tons of rich BR conservatives are against it.

Why is this opinion newsworthy? It does not override the state supreme court.
The ruling happened. The city is legitimate. The governor has appointed the interim government. And there is definitely going to be a lawsuit for St. George to fetch the tax dollars collected within their boundaries since the voters legally approved the city years ago,

I’ve heard it’s hard for the Tigertown people to get the C-P to haul off all the bags of trash that they bag.

Our tax dollars go into a general fund to pay for a percentage of everything.

The far left candidate that is running for mayor against Broom has picked up trash with them. Not saying he's a good candidate. But it highlighted how little SWB even cares about her own community.
Do you think Broom even cares about what Keep Tigertown Beautiful does?
