I grew up in StG area and currently live in StG. I want to know what it is that WE are lacking so bad to have 17,000 people decide the fate of 86,000.
Just asking. I really want to know.
I rarely get to talk to pro StG people without feeling like I was yelled at by FOX news people.

That's kind of how elections work. I didn't vote for Broome. How is fair that a bunch of people in NBR get to decide who my mayor is? I don't live in NBR

The StG area wanted new schools.

They were told to form an ISD because they wouldn’t get the schools.

So, they then tried to form an ISD.

The BR government told them that they couldn’t form an ISD without incorporating.

So, the StG area called their bluff and incorporated.

You want to be pissed at someone?

Get angry at the dumbasses in the BR government who wouldn’t permit either new schools or an ISD and TOLD StG to form.

Actually 32,293 people decided the fate of St George. That's how elections work, deal with it.

I feel you, but I have a few friends in the Houston area that hate the ISD system. Its not what you are being sold. Frankly the schools are never going to happen. You done pissed off the rest of the parish.

Also the spokesman for StG (who is a lawyer and loving the long term litigation) has his kids in private school.

Because you have zero understanding of how the government or elections work so I imagine trying to explain any aspect of it is frustrating

Less than half said no, and more than half said yes. That’s how a vote works. The majority wins.

you don’t want police protection when StG residents go into the city of BR to eat, shop, LSU activities, downtown activities? That seems like a service to StG residents. If something happened to a StG resident downtown they should wait till the Sheriffs show up?
