You people are tiresome, I'm certain google will work as well for you as it did for me. According to the City of Baton Rouge, the number is ~$63million/year as of 2019. Back calculate past budgets to your own satisfaction, that number for just 2019 is more than enough for me.

Residents don't deserve this outcome. The BR city council does as they've mismanaged the city/parish for decades. They kept telling STG to frick off and then STG went and got what it needed to get done to become it's own city and now they want to sue? It's laughable. I feel bad for the BR Residents that have this pathetic leadership. Best thing to do is to vote these idiots out next time around. Progress can be made but it will take time.

This will strain the City’s ability to fund BRPD and BRFD specifically.
Why are they using funds for BRFD and BRPD from areas that BRFD and BRPD do not cover? You will see sheriff deputies downtown Baton Rouge. You will never see BR PD in Shenandoah (unless they live there)
I have never seen BRFD in my neighborhood, but I have seen St. George Fire at Town Center.

We live in BR but we are the voting minority now in the city limits. I think the best that we can hope for at this point is a moderate Dem like Kip.

Will be hard to sway votes from SWB....Look at what's being bused to vote. Sad they can do that so well, yet refuse to put their energy into something that's actually productive & good.

Because it's the absolute least amount of work to produce results to do even less work and keep getting paid for it. I agree, pretty sad indeed.

So you don’t want police protection when StG residents go into the city of BR to eat, shop, LSU activities, downtown activities?
That seems like a service to StG residents.
If something happened to a StG resident downtown they should wait till the Sheriffs show up?

Kip is a large part of the problem.
He spent as much of more than Broome has.
We just liked his “act”.
Now he was far less divisive, but he was a big spender too. He really hurt our parish when his 7-800 million dollar sewer program jumped to almost 2 Billion dollars. He and our C-P Counvil did that under the guise the Feds made us go it.
Before that we had Simpson and TomEd, I font know how much they transferred to balance the budget to pay the cops, etc, but it would be interesting to find out.

What about when BR residents eat in St George? Don't you want them to have protection? This is ignorant. There's more to it than dining.

This is what a dumb take looks like. It doesn’t make up for the fact that St. George is paying taxes to the city to pay for a fire department that doesn’t serve them. They have to pay extra, on top of what they’re already paying, to hire the private St. George Fire District. It’s taxes for services they aren’t eligible to receive.
