I feel sorry for that robot going to Mars.

I like how the SpaceX bros were using their excited, staged whoa voice until they realized it wasn’t a good thing that had happened.
It's not good, but it's also not a bad thing. SpaceX blew up many rockets before they got to where they are. Same will happen on starship until it gets perfected. It's part of the process.

It was a static test
it is literally a test to see if static will make the fuel go BOOM
I hope your joking.
THe static test is testing the ignition of all rockets while starship is secured aka, STATIC.
Static fires are common prelaunch tests, in which a rocket's engines are briefly ignited while the vehicle remains anchored to the ground. SpaceX had already conducted a static fire with this Ship, though that trial involved just one of its Raptor engines; this test may have been intended to fire up all six of them.

I was wrong.
In my defense, we had tests in the Navy called static tests and static fire tests. They tested for static to ground on instruments and fuel shielding.
So, yeah. My bad.

And repeated failures during launches. Starliner made it to ISS and back. In fact, the astronauts could have returned safely on Starliner but for an abundance of caution.
So yeah, Starliner is looking better.
Why are you comparing a tricycle to an off road dump truck?

There is this odd hatred for anything associated with Musk.
If he cured ALS, half the people would complain he didn't cure cancer instead.
The other half would bemoan the reduction of electric wheelchair manufacturing jobs

I don't think this is part of the process, The just did a one engine static fire a few days ago. This was something crazy.

Someone forgot to tighten the gas cap

As someone who vaguely pays attention, this seems to be happening a little more often. May be a good thing Elon is getting back involved.

Boeing isn't looking like such a terrible option now.
Boing struggled to take one crew to ISS and failed to return them. So they are still struggling getting people to low earth orbit and back while SpaceX Dragon does this all the time with crews or supplies including taking Starliner’s crew back to earth for Boeing.
This incident was with the development of Starship and the super heavy booster which are for the next stage of space travel further out than low earth orbits.
I am sure you know that, but you just can’t help yourself.

I wonder if having 33 first stage engines is part of the problem? The more things that can go wrong...

Did it hit the Golden Dome?

That's not the end with the most failures recently.
