It's even crazier when you realize how big those boosters are

I hope you took a video
They're legitimately 100x more impressive at night than day launches. This one was awesome but an iPhone can't even halfway do it justice in the day.

Sounds like I was wrong and they lost the center core. Still a success though.

YouTube - 38:35 - "We Lost the Center Core"
Maybe they just meant the communications though.

It’s truly amazing what can be accomplished when the government is not in control.

I think they just meant the communications with the center core. The reaction there would have been different I think.

Buddy just sent me a video of the boosters landing from about 2 miles away.
Holy shite. The on board cams don't do it justice on how fast those things are plummeting down to earth.
And the sonic boom. Sience boner, engaged.

Amazing how that rocket can leave the ground, enter Earths Orbit, and return back to the launch pad in the same time it takes me to go from Bluebonnet to Essen on the interstate at 4pm
It is indeed amazing, but none of the boosters go into orbit. They don't even go that far downrange, which is why they can come back. They mostly just go up with a slight tilt to get above the atmosphere before it curves off to go more horizontal toward orbit. The boosters drop off then.

Nah, I think they knew they lost it. That's why they cut so quickly after landing.
