I don’t understand a portion of you people.
You complain about Louisiana’s brain drain due to poor economy.
Louisiana finally gets a big economic boost by way of Space X and yet here you are again complaining.
What exactly is a win for these types of people? It’s seriously sad. This is one of the biggest positive stories to come out of Louisiana perhaps ever and so many people want to bitch and moan about it.
Man Louisiana sure has some of the best people in the world and some of the worst people in the world all jumbled together.

I have to (want to???) believe that people are severely overestimating the amount of negativity of our populous to this project and that the vast majority of voters in this state are (or will be) extremely excited about it all.

I think you're right. I've noticed whenever someone pops up with the usual stupid talking points (WHAT ABOUT HURRICANEZ?!1) they get destroyed by 10 other people pretty quickly.
It's exciting and scary because we always get teased with the possibility of things like this happening in the state only for them to fall apart.
Hopefully it's the start of a change in mindset.

I'm mostly NIMBY in my overcrowded parish with the bullshite house developments they push through.
I am PRO job growth in areas that can support it. This one is a no-brainer. I do feel for the very few people in the area that lose fishing spots but as far as residents, I can't imagine more sparsely populated area in this state. The benefit to society ratio is OFF THE CHARTS on this one. Very few eggs cracked, and a world record omelet made (see what I did there?)

A loaded C-130 can easily land on Lafayette's 8,000' runway. Hell even a fully loaded C5 Galaxy could land.
There is also the New Iberia airport with its 8,000' runway. This airport also has plenty of open space for logistics and staging. It has direct access to Hwy 90 and is right at one hour away ftom Pecan Island

Elon is just gonna build his own airport right on site.

This is the most likely scenario reading everything. If he puts in his own airport he’ll have less air traffic to deal with.

That bridge on 3147 is rated at 5 tons. He’s going to have to build a new bridge (small potatoes in the grand scheme of things)
