I think the most interesting piece of the public infrastructure is how much will be local/state versus private SpaceX-picked contractors. SpaceX isn't going to want to wait on a slow and corrupt bid system.

Yeah to be launching rockets by 2029 there’s no room for slow workers. I told a buddy we’ll be watching rockets launched before we get a new completed I10 bridge in LC

That'll be interesting too...how far out do the infrastructure upgrades go? You'd think that I-10 will have to be upgraded so they can truck in parts and materials between Boca Chica-Vermillion-Cape Canaveral.
I'm sure ideally they want most to go by boat, but I'd have to imagine there's stuff that can't even be exposed to saltwater, but who knows.

There’s a place near Starbase Louisiana that already builds platforms for SpaceX, pretty sure most of it is put on ships.

Very well could be. It’s a small and dying town .. but it’s got everything you need. Grocery store. Library. Decent schools. Parts stores. Hair/nail shops. Appliance store.

I don't think people realize this. Its not even exactly close to Kaplan/Abbeville. Still 45 minutes from those places and nearly 2 hours from lafayette and youngsville.
But kaplan and Abbeville are pretty much the first places that aren't at extreme risk of getting washed off with a big hurricane. How many big companies will be willing to build bigger chain stars in Pecan/Forked Island, only for it to have 8 feet of water in them within the first 10 years? Kaplan and Abbeville are the most logical solutions. Larry's fixing to be jumping.

Venture Global is finding out that problem the hard way. There’s only one way down to Cameron it’s a 2 lane road with nothing but marsh on both sides. Traffic and accidents everyday. Similar to Pecan Island there’s only one way down there. It’s gonna be a nightmare traffic wise when they are building. Kaplan and Abbeville will be the only place to live within 45 minutes of the base

They’ll benefit from cash infusion and increased tax base with more activity in the area and the parish. If they want to reverse population loss they’ll need to land supporting industries. Look for where businesses that support these SpaceX operations are most likely to expand/locate themselves and that’s where you’ll have the biggest winners.
