My hope from all of this is that people of the world will learn to pronounce Pecan correctly.

Stout, you can attest to this, as can other LC area residents

everyone needs to be ready for the headaches that come during the construction, this is 10x the size of sasol in terms of investment and more than double the 43billion SWLA has secured in industrial projects in the last 15 years which has transformed the area even with a cat 5 hurricane

it will be worth it, but prices on everything will go up for a while.

this is massive for the state

everyone loves to bash on Landry because he says shite out loud that should prolly be kept behind closed doors but the dude has secured something like 7 of the top 8 investments all time in the state in terms of $$.

These things continue to happen and it isnt by accident. He keeps it up and he will cruise to reelection, especially if LSU is winning in football and to a lesser extent basketball. He will get his doors blown off in NOLA but cruise in the overall state.

Also there is apparently a “Vermilion area” discount .. so check you accounts for those who have OR check your address at the starlink website for those who want new service.

Also, it seems that the discount is for as long as you have that address.

This is freaking awesome, can't wait to drive down to see starship launches! We can even tailgate out there!

I grew up in a small town north of Tampa. We could see plenty of launches at Cape Kennedy 105 miles away. This new complex is closer than that to Tiger Stadium (~93 miles).

Lots of little towns along US-90 will have awesome views.

Welding, fitting, materials handling, maritime, and heavy equipment workers will be demand. Heavy equipment rentals and repair could make a small fortune. Large scale construction followed by insane scale production.

It might become one of the most congested areas of the Intracoastal waterway.

You need to be in a rocket to successfully drive Hwy 14. Hovercraft at the minimum

I think and would hope this is a situation where all infrastructure in the area will be significantly upgraded.
