What’s funny is I’m former military, civilian Police Officer, and now moonlighting as an FA for a large airline based in ATL.
If you’re a single straight male this is the best job in the world. When you first start you aren’t flying the “desired” routes with the old ladies but rather the domestic trips with young fresh out of college chicks. It’s actually great ??
There are a lot of parallels between this job and being in LEO, actually. You deal with a lot of idiots, assholes, and people who think rules don’t apply to them. But by and large it’s pretty easy especially at the airline I work for.
I will say a lot of the young gay male FAs can be extremely sassy and initiate a ton of confrontations with passengers. For this reason I choose not to fly with them. In fact I’m currently on a trip with two chicks who both recently graduated from UGA. It’s awesome.
And the pay is definitely more than $25k. If I wanted to keep making shite money I would’ve stayed a cop. But, I’m definitely a unicorn in this industry but it’s honestly pretty awesome.

If a person can’t pass a few hours on a flight without drinking, they have an issue. This is similar to those folks who have to sneak beer or whiskey into a ballpark to watch there kids play baseball or football for a few hours. I drink, but damn, I can “not drink” when necessary.
