It's a public safety issue. I'm one of the most pro-law enforcement posters on this board. Our police have been attacked by shite bulls. Need to get rid of them.
It’s feel good legislation and yet another unenforceable law. Are they gonna go door to door to find these dogs? Is there a pit bull registry to track them?
I have no problem trying to address an issue, but I don’t see this being effective or even necessary.

This is stupid. You are using the same argument that the gun grabbers use. Punish responsible owners.
Just like the guy who linked Google, I can find a multitude of murders/accidents involving guns. Let's ban them!

I am an avid pit bull fan, I have owned several pits over the years both full blooded and mixed breeds. My current pit is 100% American Pit Bull Terrier based upon an Embark doggy DNA profile.
With that said, I absolutely support spaying and neutering pits. Unless you are a responsible breeder with a good understanding of genetic selection for desirable traits, you should not be breeding these animals.
In my opinion, the biggest problem with pits today is the amount of irresponsible breeding that is occurring by hood trash for either fighting or intimidation purposes. It is mostly these types of dogs that end up running loose and attacking other animals and people. My dog never goes out in public without a strong leash and halter. I don't have any children around my house so it has never been an issue. If this law discourages those P.O.S backyard breeders then I am for it.

A gun can’t pick itself up and starting shooting things on its own.
A pit or pit mix can decide to attack at any moment.

While safely contained in my house? What are you doing in my house?

Ownership of a pit bull is also not a constitutionally guaranteed right. Not equivalent at all.

Sure it is. This is supposed to still be a free country.
The Bill of Rights is a list of negative rights, which list the things the government can't do to you.
Again, you are acting like a liberal and advocating for positive rights, a bill of rights listing the things I am allowed to do/have.
Try again.
I'd be for a law saying that if your dog gets out and attacks someone, you spend time in jail.
*On a side note, and I'm not advocating for dog fighting. Before the government outlawed dog fighting and drove it underground, man biters were culled because you had to be able to handle your dog in the box. My point being, laws will not stop certain activities, only make it profitable for bad actors.

The real issue is if every "pit bull" variety disappeared tomorrow it is likely the outcome would be worse. The people that look to this "breed" as a weapon would simply move on and ruin another. Chances are they would move on to an even more physically intimidating and capable breed like the Cane Corso or Dogo Argentino. If you think crazed "pits" are scary wait until the same trash gets ahold of the Canes and Dogos, breeds them for size and weaponizes them.

No one is banning the breed. You want to own a pit bull, then SC is simply saying that, for the greater good, please go get your dog fixed.
That is all.
That is all.

Another liberal mantra.
Do you think that the problem owners are going to obey this law while they are dealing drugs?

The irony here is people in favor of non sporting rifles with drum magazines will be the same ones decrying pits
A dog is only as good as its owner. I've known lovable pits.
You want to punish responsible owners because of the mistakes of a few?
Well guns kill more people than dogs. You are literally using the same argument the anti gun people use.

Believing in a greater good is also now Liberal?
This board, I swear.

The lack of Constitutional understanding here is baffling.

If you want to control the pit bull population, put all of the pit bulls into the same pen together for a few minutes.
