The sound of my mother’s whistle, calling us home. I’m the only one of the sibs who learned her whistle, so it was also the sound my son heard calling him home.

Rewinding or fast forwarding a cassette or video tape.

Small planes flying over when we lived in the country. Something about that is still “comforting” and makes me want to take an afternoon nap lol.

I can’t believe we were allowed to ride our bikes miles to a friends house and come home whenever, just better be by dark.

What I miss the most is being able to not be found. No one could call, text, page, etc unless you wanted to be. Amazing

Any time from 1945 to 2000 was glorious, IMHO.

"Mom, he touched me", cows mooing, horses whinnying, hogs squealing.

I still miss the farm.

The tick tock of the kitchen wall clock as I did homework late into the night. TV was off, parents in bed, and tick tock, tick tock……….

I still remember hearing that Santa laughing atop the Godchaux's building in downtown Baton Rouge. Could be heard miles away.

The opening beats of Animotion's "Obsession" as it played over the intro to the WWF's "Saturday Night's Main Event" on NBC.

We only got to see big matches involving stars like Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage a handful of times a year, back then.

When this show fired-up, complete with the driving synth of the song and images of the Hulkster and the Macho Man doing their thing, you knew you were in for something special.

I wish we could package the adrenaline rush that gave me as a child.

This has nothing to do with the 80s or 90s, even though I do agree with that sentiment.
But since I was a kid I have always loved the sound of trains.
In my hometown you could hear the trains, clearly, through the whole town.
Fast forward 36 years and I live 15 miles away from my hometown, and I'm 3 blocks away from the railroad tracks.
I love it!

favorite time of the week when i heard the opening theme songs...

"what would you do if I sang out of tune, would you stand up and walk out on me"

"making your way in the world today, takes everything you got, getting away from all your worries, sure would help alot"
