Someone needs to explain the appeal of Axe Throwing to me....

I went with my cousin to a restaurant in Houston the other night and next door to it was an axe throwing place. These places seem to be popping up everywhere and I don't understand why.
We both discussed how we have both done it exactly one time and both of us thought it was ultra lame, stupid, and a massive waste of time. In 2018, for a work event we went to an axe throwing place in Louisville and I threw the axe once, said that was stupid, and then sat around waiting for the event to be over so I could leave.
I do not get the appeal. You are throwing an axe at a piece of wood. Yay.
It's an activity that probably caters to the same type of people who wear thick framed glasses with thick scraggly beards and drink craft beer, watches European Soccer while trashing American sports calling them "sportsball", and posts social media selfies with the open mouth O-face. Because that was the demographic who we saw going into the axe throwing place with my cousin as well as the demographic I saw when I went in 2018.

It allows you to do a seemingly masculine activity, but in an ironic way.

Goes with the hipster mystique...
But we all know what they are...

Probably for soy boys who don’t know how to throw the chain and never did an actual day of work in their lives.

It’s always been a favorite activity at Camp Crystal Lake.

It's the lumbersexuals take on darts. An activity or competition can be fun while enjoying a drink. I'd much rather a round of darts or pool though.

This is what I said to my cousin.
It allows soys to do an activity that seems masculine on the surface to impress women, but really isn't that masculine and makes them look like fools unless they are really smooth doing it.

I mean, when I think of throwing axes I think Vikings and mead.
Not weaklings and Soylent.

Different strokes for different folks.
Some people think fishing, hunting, golf, auto-racing, sports, video games, TV, books, Social Media, etc... are ultra lame, stupid, and massive wastes of time.

Well, it’s a bladed weapon that you throw. How much more do you need to know? If the world were still a great place, we could use the axes to split the skulls of the soybois but here we are.

So you sat in the corner like a petulant child? I’m sure you’re a blast at parties.

It makes soy boys feel like real men.

In LC, seems to be more what OP is describing or parents bringing kids.
I mean ax throwing is all right, but not making a day of it. Like I wouldn't go hang out with buddies drinking beer and doing ax throwing, but I certainly would take my kids for an hour and enjoy some appetizers.

You get to throw an axe at something.

This. The one I've been to seemed to be a bunch of good ole baws with their dressy columbia fishing shirts and nice jeans.
