Mother to a breech baby here. I would be dead if I was born in 1908 instead of 1988.

But I assure you that the most expensive formula of any brand is still plenty easy to find.

Sure could go for some mean tweets, $2 gas, and full shelves right about now.

I’d consider pimping out my wife’s utters for 1k/6 ounce bottle.

I had to buy a freezer because my wife produced milk like a dairy cow. A couple of other women with infants we knew would try to buy it from us

Stupid. Women can just breastfeed.
We can’t get cream cheese and hash browns. We have real issues to deal with.

Peanut allergy? The baby just died.

The thread about the peanut smoothie had me thinking that.

People were asking why we never had peanut allergies years ago... we did... the kids just died and they called it something else because they didn't know it was peanuts.

I remember going through couch cushions trying to find enough change to buy formula
That’s sad because people who don’t work go to WIC and get it for free.

There’s tons of it.
Just change brands.

Just bought a 4-pack of Kirkland brand at Costco with a $15 off coupon (~20-25% discount)

I hope you’re not a pediatrician. Specific brands are significantly better when a child has specific issues. Our son had extreme projectile vomiting - 16.8 lbs at 12 months - and only 1 brand worked well for him along with 2 medicines.

In my area it seems like it is more the pro or sensitive versions are harder to find. There have been a few "where can I find x formula?" posts on my local moms Facebook group each week since Christmas.

I can assure you that this is false. The horribly expensive stuff we feed (similac alitiminitituitttium) is damn hard to find right now.

My wife couldn’t keep up with the breast milk after she went back to work and started pumping. A friend of hers gave her pretty much an entire freezer full of breast milk. I swear that girl was part Holstein.

This is the vast minority. You’re describing an exception, not the rule.

A helpful article on when certain formulas are indicated. In the absence of intolerance, no need to worry about switching.

If you still have some I’ll buy a quart for $25. $100 if you include a pic of the old lady.

The title of this thread is SOME parents are struggling to find baby formula…

Several posters them responded with comments about their child needing a specific formula. You then replied to the thread saying to just switch brands. Did you not read the thread before replying? Because, your advice to simply switch brands was overly simplified considering the replies before yours. One would expect a doctor to shy away from overly broad advice.

Read the OP. Deal with this on a daily basis. Most the time we can switch up the brand and stay within the class and do fine.

Many people think they have tried “all” options when in reality, they have barely scratched the surface.
