A bar tab situation is different. If they want to make the encounter a counter service restaurant then that’s cool, I’ll pay when I order but if you seat me and need my ID as collateral then I just don’t think that’s the place I’d enjoy dining at for a meal

I'd understand it fully. Especially a place like Myrtle Beach. It's sad how much these people have ruined this once great country. Promote trash culture and people in the media and this is what you get. Wonder how many TikTok dine and dash videos there are or snap or insta or whatever. We don't need non Soros DA's... we need flame throwers.

Im empathetic to the restaurant’s predicament Having partially owned a few over the years but I choose to not spend my money at a place that has this requirement.. I wouldn’t blast them for their decision but again I’m not willingly going to spend my money if required to hand over my ID as collateral…. Do people not realize the info you are giving them?

What does that have to do with anything?? It does not hurt you at all to provide an idea or credit card. It's not like they are going to steal it and not give it back...
If a customer steals food, that's $ they're never getting back
