The patrons are stupid, but the owner is a genius. Reaping all the profits of a bar price markup without having to deal with the liability of drunks. Buy a gallon of coconut milk for $20, sell 6 oz. drinks for $15, fricking bank.

Meh. That's the Williamsburg area, it's going through a gentrification by Millenials escaping the high costs of living in NYC. Go deeper into Brooklyn and into Queens and you won't find that sort of silliness.

Eh I can’t see profits being that high. I doubt anyone buys more than 1 or 2 of these drinks. Nobody is going to swipe the Amex and rack up a 300 dollar tab trying to get some

Yep. Anywhere there's a bridge to/from Manhattan (especially Lower Manhattan) there's noticeable gentrification going on to some extent (example: LIC is going through heavy changes while DUMBO has slowed down quite a bit, but both are still gentrifying).

I'm in the minority but I am in full support. Want to drink? Go to a regular bar. I'm trying to break myself of having to choose between diet and social life. Alcohol is just so detrimental to many of the goals I've set for myself. It's pretty liberating to go out and have fun without drinking.
