Because people like him feel the need to impose their own wants and views on everyone around them. Also probably has no self control or personal accountability.

I can and do. Doesn't mean I wouldn't also enjoy an environment with people of a similar mindset and without the presence of social and internal pressure to drink.

what a fricking drama queen. I don't think anyone is advocating prohibiting alcohol from being consumed at all bars. I'm just in favor for having a few niche places that you can go where the focus is elsewhere. If you don't want to frequent those kind of places, more power to you

you strict diet people are interesting. You can't have a couple Miller lites or vodka sodas with friends occasionally?

SJW's, progressives, soyboys, feminists, etc are all just Puritans with bad haircuts. The only difference is who they're worshiping. The means, using government to enforce a strict social moral code on others, is exactly the same.

No...the objective is clearly to make bank of hipster who for some reason don't mind paying $15 for a glass of juice... mission successful. This is stupid as hell, but you gotta respect the business model

This. Current SJW progressives and old-school "moral majority" conservatives are two sides of the same statist coin.

Both want to use the government to legislate morality.

There is no coincidence that the most progressive city in America is Boston, the birthplace of Puritanism in the United States.

Don't get all up in arms if people want to go to a club without alcohol and just go to any of the other million bars in NYC instead?

If I were a single guy in NYC I would love this. Sober bars would suck all of the undateable chicks out of the places where I like drink.

The patrons are stupid, but the owner is a genius. Reaping all the profits of a bar price markup without having to deal with the liability of drunks. Buy a gallon of coconut milk for $20, sell 6 oz. drinks for $15, fricking bank.

No doubt, and he/she don't have to deal with the headache of a liquor license and stupid people who can't hold their liquor or insuring the alcohol while still selling drinks at the same price. Whoever put this in motion to take advantage of the idiots is a genius.

It's pretty miserable depending upon when you go, where you go, how long you stay, and so forth.

I'm in the middle on this. I go out often and don't drink a lot. Some nights i get 1 drink per bar and just have it. Some nights I just get a bottle of water. I'm not too proud and I don't really care what anyone thinks.

But i will say that for those really dieting hard, having a few drinks often leads into eating nachos and pizza that night. As it limits social inhibitions it makes it more difficult to keep your food wants out of your mind. So if you're really cutting hard, it makes for a tough time potentially.

Excellent point. I've certainly found this to be the case. Drink #1 also paves the way for drink #2
