I knew of many of the descriptions of him as white, but always assumed them relative descriptions
As in white compared to the people he was near.
Turns out I may have been mistaken, according to WikiIslam

There were certainly whites, arabs, and blacks in and around Israel at the time of Christ's birth

Arabians can range in skin tones from European to African. For a little more granularity (via the palette below), they don't delve into the Norse nor Kushite ranges but can go from the light tan of someone from the Mediterranean region who rarely went out into the sun (about the color of the "French") to the darker tones of an Egyptian who has spent all their time in the sun.
Considering he was born in Mecca, it's just as plausible he was lighter-skinned as it is that he was darker-skinned.
At the end of the day though, the thing which concerns me (descriptors don't) is that he inspired a religion which holds strong misogyny as a cornerstone, often turns a blind eye to pedophilia (since Muhammed himself was a pedo) and has no problem condoning violence against non-believers as a means of converting (or subverting) them.

Well the racial thing is made up anyway. Probably from some progressive German.
Most of us are labeled Caucasian but are not. I do not share the same DNA as folks from country of Georgia. I'm western European.

Doesn't make him white, but could mean interbreeding was far more widespread than people once thought. . .and that the Mongols were far more well traveled before Timujin was born than many give them credit for.
