Explain this to me please.
Look at the states pushing mail in voting. It’s not absentee voting it’s sending out millions of live ballots that are not even requested. You don’t think that stinks of election fraud? It’s not just about the President. The house and senate is up for grabs. Dems pushing the mail in ballots hard. You can riot, go to casinos, go to restaurants, bars, and abortion clinics but you can’t go vote?

You are a joke. You just edited out this sentence from your second source.

the same part of the population that is dying in large numbers.
when a vaccine come out and the elderly and high risk are protected, those numbers for COVID will drop significantly

Yet some don't want to acknowledge a covid death unless it is on the death certificate and the person's dying words are "I have covid."
Yet some places are recording any death as a Covid death regardless of how they died.
Died in a car wreck and have Covid? Covid Death

I caught it late feb and it was bad. I didn’t even know what it was at the time. I just knew that I felt horrible.
There were no tests at the time. I tested for the flu and was negative. I knew this was no cold though.
I had the flu back in December. Got a steroid shot, took some meds and felt better in a few days. Worse than a cold but no where near what covid felt like.
That’s my anecdotal input on it

So the CDC estimates that the flu kills between 29k & 59k ppl per season

If we calculate the flu death toll for 8.25 months using the average of 15k per month FOR SOMETHING WE DO HAVE A VACCINE FOR; it comes out to about 124k deaths.
I get paid 26 days a year. If I take my average paycheck and multiply it by 365 days/year, I make more money than many professional athletes. Logically, this means professional athletes are OT poors.

We just need to do this to flatten the curve. Then we can go back to normal.
This. All we have to do is follow what JBE is telling us what to do and we can beat this thing. Just wear masks and don't go to places. JUST LISTEN! Nevermind that for literally 3-4 months, we did exactly that, and we still haven't "beaten" anything. But this time IF YOU JUST LISTED AND DO WHAT THEY SAY we will and things can get back to normal.
It's all a bunch of fricking bullshite at this point. It feels like every word that the government tells us explicitly contradicts the previous ten words they just said.

FWIW, BOTH ends of your range are wrong. It doesn’t change subsequent math massively because I think the average flu seasons is something like 37k deaths.
quote:
Keep in mind that many of that 160k death toll have been attributed to Covid, despite many of them being related to other fatal incidents.
This however is a complete social media talking point that blows small nuggets of reality out of proportion.
Excess deaths this year compared to the average exceeds the official death COVID-19 count. So you see the changes in the data even if you throw out the shell game of reported causes.
Saying that everything we are seeing is an overreaction to the actual threat of the virus is legit. Undercutting what the virus is actually doing by assuming some sizable portion of the death count is actually other causes of death is not.
Also, focusing on death is a fallacy. Pretty much everyone recovers from flu completely. We don’t know yet the long term effects of this virus. The number of cases of recoveries but with lingering heart symptoms where they had none before Is worrisome.

You guys can argue that the measures taken to slow down COVID were too extreme and that the results of the “medicine” will be worse than the disease itself. You can make a good case that we have done more harm to society in the long run.
But anyone with half a brain can see that the COVID pandemic is way worse than a regular flu. It’s more severe and more deadly. It’s hard to fight too because you can have it, not show symptoms and pass it along.
Posts like this are silly.

It’s worse for those over 55, the same for those 40-55, and not as bad for those under 40
Statistically speaking at least. Overall, seems about the same to me. It’s basically a novel flu without a vaccine and no immunity due to being novel

Im not disagreeing with your point whatsoever, but you should know the flu season is from October to March per CDC.

It amazes me no one is making comparisons to the 1968 pandemic which killed around 100k US citizens and a million globally, which is in line with what COVID is doing mortality wise once you normalize for population growth.
The only real movement I’ve seen has been suppression attempts of comparable data points on editable webpages.
