The rainbow bridge is taller than both.

Getting conflicting info. One site said 177', other said 230'

I stand corrected.

Just the really tall ones, like the Skyway Bridge south of Tampa, Fl

I had to drive over that monster twice this past week on our way to and from Key West.

I drive across this bridge quite regularly...There is nothing in my opinion that makes this scary. The worst thing about the crossing is that it is a toll bridge and there is always a wind blowing across.

I do too, and it came out of nowhere. It also got to the point where even overpasses made me freeze up.

Didn’t read the whole thread, but see if your doctor can give you a little something to take, to makes a huge difference.

Good luck!.

Bridges have always scared me.

I've seen those time lapse videos of them movie....nope! I know they have to do that, but those videos are terrifying.

I have a fear of high bridges in my dreams, but not in real life. Yes, I'm aware that this is strange

Out of nowhere, I started having issues driving in the mountains a few years back (around the time I turned 50). After googling and trying to figure it out, I apparently have developed a fear of "no barriers". It has since progressed to fearing the outside lanes of tall bridges then getting too close to the edge of balconies in high-rises. I get the cold sweats when dealing with any of the above. No problems at all with planes .

I hate being inside tall building. Especially stadiums that are enclosed. Looking up at the ceiling inside a place like the superdome gives me massive anxiety for some reason. I always wear a baseball cap because the brim will hide some of the height of the building. I've almost left games early due to this. I don't know why but I just start freaking the hell out. My monkey brain can't handle it, it knows this is not natural. Heights in general now are starting to get to me.

I get more weirded out by being close to a ceiling in a place that I know is high, than I do looking down from a high place.

Though I did get freaked out on a hike while walking on a path that was about 2-3 feet wide with sure death on both sides of me

Yeah, I had some rafter seats at a basketball game and it wasn't working for me. I remember going to the grand canyon as a kid, if I went now I'd probably shite myself

it is so irrational. I just think about how small I am and I feel my shoulders sink and I start to lose it.

I was afraid of riding elevators as a kid. My dad had to take his belt off if I would not ride an elevator.

The weird thing was that I would suffer nervousness and anxiety for six hours riding to Houston because I knew I had to ride an elevator to see my grandma.

The elevator ride to the third floor was only 15 seconds.

As I got older, I forced myself to ride elevators at the Baton Rouge Clinic and local hospitals. Exposure therapy helps.

the only bridge I have crossed that freaked me out was the Chesapeake Bay Bridge:

Total length: 4.35 mi (7.00 km) (eastbound); 4....
Longest span: 1,600 ft (488 m)
Height: 354 ft (107.9 m) (eastbound); 379 ft ...

funny thing - I have driven across the New River Gorge Bridge, and it didn't phase me:

Total length 3,030 ft (924 m)
Width 69.3 ft (21.1 m), 4 lanes with center divider
Height 876 ft (267 m)

I've gotten more than way as I've gotten older. That said, I cross this bridge a lot and don't think much of it. Thankfully, it's built so that you don't notice how high it is when you drive across it. Now, if you go out onto the walkway that faces the Dam, that's another matter.

No particular fear of heights, but our brains can do weird things. I regularly walk around in people’s attics (old telephone man), so I’m always searching for the rafters to step on, holding into nearby fixtures, etc. I went into this Asian dude’s place one day, and he had carefully cut cardboard and placed it over the insulation and between the rafters. For some reason, my brain saw the flat surface of cardboard and rafters, and I was able to walk straight across (the rafters obviously) with no issue.

its so funny people complain about the I-10 bridge in LC. back when we were kids and the Rainbow bridge was both directions, before the new bridge, well....it made the I-10 bridge seem like a cake walk.

Rainbow bridge with traffic both ways is the only time i have been scared going over a bridge.

Florida International University pedestrian bridge. I live 5 miles from there and passed by 2 days before. While this was under construction, it was solely the contractor's fault for not re-routing traffic at the crazy hour of 12 pm. I believe 12 people died. Shameful.
