Cuse,

1. This shite is bad. I mean toxic. Covered by Fox News, cnn, and when I saw the magazine cover mentioned in the OP, a major magazine not on the level of Esquire or some other tabloid.

2. No I would absolutely never be implied. It happened before my time here.

I'm honestly not. But it's not a large company, as you claim. Small enough that it's possible for you OT sleuths to maybe figure out who I am, so no thanks.

Other than quit there is nothing you can do to "distance" yourself. What you are doing right now is the exact opposite of distancing yourself.

Im not exactly worried about posting anonymously on a predominantly Louisiana message board about a job I have in New England.

If the company is big enough to actually be on the cover of a magazine there are likely multiple levels of management above you, so who cares?

Not saying it's the case here, but things on the scale to be on front page of magazines tend to be systemic rather than individual.

Even if you aren't going to be directly held accountable, you can still be implicitly asked to do some extremely sketchy things that you may not be comfortable with.

If it happened before your time, do you really have too much to worry about? As long as your superiors know that you had nothing to do with it, I can't see the company taking anything out on you. I'm guessing there will be some shifting/firing/re-arranging at the upper levels and if you play your cards right they may just look for someone to fill into those new roles.

I'd say hold off on leaving until you can find a new position at a new company, once you do let your boss know that you're leaving for reasons XXX and YYY unless you're promoted to fix their shite. Sorry I've never been in this situation before but I feel for ya. Get some sleep and rethink about all this in the morning, hopefully a different perspective

Yeah yeah, you got me typing on a phone...

But seriously, quitting seems more incriminating than just riding it out until you secure a new job. Good luck.

Because I don't need people on this board with an excuse to figure out who I am IRL.
