How about we get people jobs so they don’t commit crimes?
Jobs have been abundant since Covid. Anyone without a job in the U.S. doesn’t want to work. You can lead a person to water, but be careful because they may prefer to drown you and take your stuff instead of appreciating what you have done for them.

Wendy's after Katrina was paying $16 an hour on the North Shore. The jobs are there, but it'd be nice if when you applied you didn't have multiple larceny or theft charges before trying to apply for a job where cash is handled. Retard.

This isn’t racism. This is truth, unfortunately.

Buy tiger land and North of campus and raze them to the ground.
Put in businesses and bars and make the areas safe for students.
Basically just get rid of the bad elements and things tend to fix themselves.
I've been working on this idea for 15 years now and what we need is some developers with large sacks of money for this to happen.
Anyone recall the CAMD Research Park ? Well CAMD is still there but the research park has become a large shopping center.
My idea was to purchase all the land north of Roosevelt St., between Nicholson and Highland Rd. and south of I-10. Then build a True research/medical/technology park with student housing added in.
Yes there are naysayers shrieking about racism and other nonsense.
This would be an added boost to the University and the state.
Oh , where would the low economic class move to ? There is plenty of cane fields just west of Port Allen to build them some nice new housing. Some of the poor housing north of Roosevelt St. is only being held up because the termites are holding hands.

It is sad and pathetic that you believe these people want a job. There are jobs everywhere. These people have no desire to be employed.

STEM colleges are competitive with qualified students being paid. No one pays tuition. Mandatory 10% dropout rate.
Non-STEM colleges are on their own, sink or swim. No scholarships unless private. Colleges get no subsidies.
Burn the law school to the ground.

1. Truly make LSU the flagship with elevated admissions standards. If students don’t meet these they can start at New Orleans, Alec, Eunice, or Shreveport and transfer in.
2. Doing the above will reduce main campus enrollment and eliminate admin bloat.
3. Invest in R&D to drive industry to partner with main campus.
4. Continue to utilize LSU Real Estate Foundation to develop blighted areas near/on campus.
5. Work with EBR planning & zoning to crack down on shitty student housing developments.
6. Hire more LSUPD and take advantage of their statewide jurisdiction to have them patrol off campus.

LSU doesn’t have the problem.
Louisiana does. Baton Rouge does.
It’s not specific to the school
It's specific to a culture that thinks it's ok to bully, be entitled, steal, and kill.
Who can address this? We need leaders and trendsetters to change the culture.

Maybe Commissioner Reed and the Board of Regents end policies that discriminate against White and Asian students in favor of “underrepresented minorities”?

The immediate short term solution is to have only day games for the remainder of the season.
I know diehard Tiger fans feels it's a rite of passage that all home games be played at night, but I'm certain many less crimes/ shootings would occur if the games and tailgating occur in the daylight
Then, next year, a more definitive barricading / monitoring system can be implemented.

That's probably the most succinct way to put what I've been thinking for 20 years. However, the teachers will find a way to change the definition of what is included in STEM and what isn't. Even in Texas, it's now STEAM (adding "arts" as if it's remotely close to the intent.)
Teachers and voters will always find a way to corrupt good intent.

GPAs can be manipulated, but I would definitely have a minimum ACT score of 25 or comparable SAT.

Baton Rouge is the main problem not LSU. Many people tailgating at game are not students that being said LSU needs to buy Tiger Land and raze it Mayor Sid needs to fix BR

Create an incentive program to move people back to West Africa. It's not going to ever work unless that happens.

Louisiana public schools are turning ghetto. The normally preppy kids are now becoming trash. And these kids are now the population of LSU. LSU is now the same as a Louisiana public high school.
