If 1 person has been vaccinated and 99 other people havent. The whole population is still at risk of contracting. Vaccines have never been invincible shields. But a properly vaccinated populace allows disease no foothold to attack from. So as the % of pop vaccinated rises. Both less transmission and less virulent attacks occur.

Sounds like the Moderna vaccine does prevent spreading the virus.

But there is also evidence suggesting that just one dose of Moderna's may stop the virus's spread. A second document published on the FDA website Tuesday shows asymptomatic infection was reduced by 63 percent after the first shot.

You can still spread the virus after receiving the vaccine, that's not what I would consider immunity.

They don't know yet. It's not that you definitely can spread the virus even after vaccination, they just don't have enough data yet to say at this point whether you can or can't. Within a few months they likely will be able to.

The leading cause of polio is the polio vaccine.

This is true. But we're talking about approximately 150 cases each due to the vaccine and the wild virus, as opposed to half a million cases without a vaccine. Also, the type of vaccine used in Africa is an attenuated virus because it is cheap to produce.

The covid vaccines are a different type that would be impossible to give anyone covid.

Stop spreading fear when you don't know what you are talking about.

Well this isn't related to Africa, it is a problem for polio everywhere.

There's a reason mrna vaccines haven't been used before. It is because they are ridiculously dangerous and were previously deemed unsafe.

o wearing a mask after being vaccinated is to protect those that haven’t been vaccinated yet.

It very likely hasn't been used as a vaccine because there isn't a ton of money in vaccines. A lot of the research and application previously was to fight cancer.

I'd like to see the data on this. There have been several mRNA vaccines in development for various cancers for a few years now. It's my understanding there were larger issues with storage and the delivery of the vaccine instead of it being "dangerous".

You can get COVID-19 after the vaccine but supposedly the symptoms will be much less

So 85% of ppl will be asymptomatic versus only the 80% currently?

How does being vaccinated help anyone other than the person vaccinated if they are saying you can still spread it even vaccinated?

Science, that's how. Why are you questioning science?

For the majority of us Covid was a pretty mild flu anyway. Unlikely the politicians will give back the power we gave them which is sad.

I don’t think mRNA vaccines are dangerous

They’ve never been approved before because they were never deemed effective enough.

Storage and delivery affects their effectiveness.
