What if I already had the virus? That's what gets me, why aren't we doing anything for those that have already been positive to get on with their lives? WTF do I need to have restrictions?

The point is that we reach here immunity without killing a couple of million people.

It will take time for enough people to get both doses and develop immunity.

It would come quicker if idiots like you didn't try to convince others to be as stupid as you.

NINETY. FOUR. POINT. SEVEN. PERCENT. EFFICACY.

How is the efficacy being measured if you can still get sick and still spread the virus?

Moderna’s vaccine decreased symptomatic Covid by 94%.

Pfizer’s seemed to be 95% effective at preventing Covid after a few weeks

Shut up and do as you’re told.

We’ve got 2 weeks to flatten the curve!

You can still spread the virus after receiving the vaccine, that's not what I would consider immunity.

So if this is true, this confirms that there is no point in getting it if you are in the majority of the population that has minimal symptoms.

How do you know if you will have minimal symptoms?

I may not be at risk for dying or being hospitalized (at least not from this), but I don't want to spend a week feeling miserable like I did for that rather interesting chest cold I had while visiting NYC in late February.

no, it's just that the older I get I question things more.

I'm not trying to tell anyone not to get the vaccine. It's your decision.

So it works basically like the flu shot?

After reading Pfizer’s info and Moderna’s info - I have no idea how it works. They’re two different vaccines.

It looks like Pfizer’s prevents you getting the virus altogether- but after 28 days of the vaccine being in your system

Moderna’s is effective at people not getting severe symptoms - so people are still getting the virus and spreading it with this vaccine

I also found this interesting - it’s on Pfizer’s webpage:

“The Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine has not been approved or licensed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), but has been authorized for emergency use by FDA under an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) to prevent Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) for use in individuals 16 years of age and older. The emergency use of this product is only authorized for the duration of the declaration that circumstances exist justifying the authorization of emergency use of the medical product under Section 564(b)(1) of the FD&C Act unless the declaration is terminated or authorization revoked sooner.”

because it reduces your viral load

and when your viral load is reduced, the chances of you spreading it decrease

and even if you spread it, the viral load will be lower, thus reduces the symptoms in the people you infected as well

I get this in theory. But where's the herd immunity come in if we still wear masks (assuming masks "work"), stay 10 feet apart and don't go to restaurants etc etc?

I guess we're acknowledging that those things don't really do much so the attenuated/vaccinated infected contagious person is still going to go out and spread the shite around. Just in smaller, less virulent loads.

This all seems very helter skelter.

I agree that once the population has been given the opportunity to receive the vaccine then it’s on them. But it will be a long time before everyone has been given the chance

If we did not hit herd immunity already. They are finding cases in stored blood as far back as September 2019 that have traces of covid 19 in them. My kids class was decimated by a flu-like virus November 2019. It is all just moving goal posts and lying to the public.

This has become the new climate change - yes covid-19 exists and can be deadly for certain people - no one denies that. The fact that every symptom under the sun "could be" covid, that there are probable case untested but added to the list of positive cases, that people who clearly died of something else but had a trace of covid in their body are counted as a covid death, that 99.whatever it is today % survive the virus is a fact, and we punish the healthy because of the sick (because you might have the covid and not know it), all this means that they can say whatever they want at any point and contradict what they said early and you still are a threat - it is pure control and not public health.

This shite is so obvious. Keep the threat of the Covid virus going through the 2022 mid term elections so the democrats can cheat and fix the election again, thus preventing the pubs from winning the house.

The vaccine hasn't been tested for whether or not you can still spread the virus. We just don't know yet. We are being warned not to let our gaurd down.

It looks like TD is slowly realizing...or not realizing...that not every vaccine means you're 100% immune to getting the illness.
