Some people enjoy that. It's weird to me.

I live in Dallas, know my neighbors, and it takes me 15 minutes to get to work downtown on average.

Unless you live on the complete opposite side of town and only know how to use the main highways the traffic isn't really bad at all. Even when rush hour hits it's not that hard to figure out alternate routes. You just have to learn the area which I doubt you did.

Good riddance. Chains are not welcome in this area. Any establishment with multiple locations is garbage

I don't get how this is supposed to have an effect on the ones that are...

How is it weird? There’s no “bad part of town,” no “culcha,” amenities everywhere, great school districts, etc. It’s extremely attractive to the type of employees these companies want to hire.

North Dallas is the shiny new toy. New Orleans may have a dilapidated infrastructure, bad schools, and a tourist based economy, but we have unique factors that corporate America should consider like Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest, second lines, St Charles Ave. streetcars, the WW2 museum, etc.

Maybe Louisiana should incentivize them to stay.

How can you blame the company for leaving just because they “should be loyal to where they’re from”?

This is what happens when you have an anti business, tax and spend Governor in charge of this state.

JBE sucks arse.

Companies have been leaving Louisiana for decades. I doubt JBE was the only factor in their decision.

And we haven't even touched on the regulations and tax structure here.

Real economic growth and diversification of the economy will not happen until we get rid our retarded state constitution and put forth a real business friendly and pro growth tax code.

Right now, the Louisiana state government only sees business as a piggy bank to rob blind instead of a partner to provide the people of the state a good place to live and raise a family.

Because people like me who have never really left Louisiana except for vacation can't understand why they would. What does Dallas have that St. Tammany for example doesn't? Of course not every parish in Louisiana will be that competitive, but we should have some parts that are.
