For a City known for Food we certainly seem to lose businesses like this to Texas

Smoothie King, founded in Kenner and headquartered in Metairie since 2013, will move its corporate headquarters to Dallas this summer, though it intends to keep a smaller, local office.

The Dallas Business Journal reports Smoothie King will join two of its major competitors, Smoothie Factory and Jamba Juice, in North Texas.

Been known for awhile, no surprise.

Unfortunately, its a smart move on their part.

It has nothing to do with that.

Dallas is known as a hub for Fast Food headquarters and therefore has a deep managerial labor pool for that industry.

Raisin' Canes did the same thing a decade ago.

When Todd Graves put a second HQ in Dallas, one thing he commented on was Louisiana lacks the personnel necessary to run a large corporation. And let's face it, we have exported our best and brightest to states like Texas that offers better opportunity and gives that state the ability to groom and produce people that can run a large corporation.

And we haven't even touched on the regulations and tax structure here.

Good riddance. Chains are not welcome in this area. Any establishment with multiple locations is garbage.

Well yeh

Slightly higher salaries with a lower cost of living, public schools as a legit option, and no income tax

Its not really a good business move for anyone in terms of attracting an employee base to be located in Louisiana

Plano is still king though. Jcpenny, frito lay, Dr Pepper/Snapple, Toyota, Pizza Hut, cinemark, etc.

Frisco doesn’t have shite. well other than the cowboys.
