That's the key. Once it really gets going, it's truly smokeless

Future runs will have it all in the pit- appreciate the suggestions

Tomorrow I’m burning my tenant’s Christmas tree I hauled off for her, along with our own big one. It will not be smokeless. Will post pics. It’s gonna be low teens or colder in the am.

Get some smaller pieces somewhere and let those become coals. The more “coals” you have the better the heat. You’ll eventually just need a few pieces to keep it going

I have a solo stove and it puts out plenty of heat. I guess you just have to know how to burn wood. Start with a little small chunk of a fire log combined with some dry pallet wood chopped up into kindling. And then some good small chunks of oak possibly some pecan but I prefer to use the pecan to cook with. It does well for us. I like it

If you're getting smoke, try not putting so much wood in there. Keep it below the rim.

Have not- I’ll look into it. Usually walk to memorial park (eastern glades) around here

Bad thing about those is they suck at putting out heat. Not bad on regular nights but they suck when its cold.

And they burn through wood really quickly. We like our solo stove, but it’s more for ambiance than anything.

How does any device guarantee no smoke? What you are burning and how much moisture lies therein determines that.

My thoughts exactly. artificial grass, smokeless pit right outside your door. A real baw has a 20 foot high bon fire out in the field.
