Bit the bullet and purchased one of these smokeless fire pits from Amazon. 21” in diameter. It’s certainly not smokeless but not sure what I can compare it to. Great for the “yard” for urbanites.

Unfortunately I’ve had to shift my chair if the smoke goes a different direction. It would be a hit at your upcoming crawfish boils once the sun goes down.

Do you live in a mid-century modern underground bunker?

Bad thing about those is they suck at putting out heat. Not bad on regular nights but they suck when its cold.

My nabor has one. It’s pretty smokeless if the wood is under the top rim.
They don’t put out a lot of heat though.
Looks cool for party’s.

It might be smokeless if you didn’t have so much wood in it. The goal is to keep the flame within the pit and you may see better results. Having a bonfire in your smokeless pit won’t cut it

This may be the most unbaw thread I’ve seen.

i believe you aren't supposed to put so much wood that the wood protrudes from the top, the airflow from the holes around the rim is supposed to burn excess wood gasses for the cleaner burn

I’m religious about picking any poop up daily. I also spray the turf every 2-3 months w this. Never stinks at all

That's the key.

Once it really gets going, it's truly smokeless

This. You really only want to have a few of pieces of kindling in it. Mine works great on my patio.

I’ll try that - thanks. The wood is too big to all go in the pit and need more wood for more heat.
