Small talk while you're getting your hair cut

I might be alone in this bc I've only had one perfect hair cut and that person was gone next time i went so I don't have a regular person I go to, but when I get my hair cut I don't like when they try too hard to make small-talk. Especially when the person getting a cut next to me has a rapport with his cutter where it's clear that he's gone to her several times and my cutter feels like that means we have to talk just as much as them.
The only thing I care about when I'm there is that I get a good cut; it's probably also due in part to the fact that I small-talk with people non-stop at work so when I'm off I have no interest.
Anyone feel the same?

I don't really like small talk but sometimes it's even more awkward sitting there for 10 minutes in total silence. Usually I'll start by talking about how busy/not busy they are which will open a dialogue. I don't mind making meaningless chatter to help pass the time there since there's no escape.

They always want to know if you're off work. I just be like "SAY CUH!" and they leave me alone / intentionally mess up my hair.

This is why I like the barber I go to. Never speaks except to ask how you want your hair cut. Only if I try to start a conversation will he start talking.

Same. I don't feel awkward if it's quiet. I just hate re-hashing the same generic things about myself or general news that I have to talk about with customers at work 10 times a day.
I'd rather watch the TV's that are right there if it's a place that has them and they have the volume turned on anyway...
