I love seeing all the hit pieces knowing myself and so many others already voted yes.

This is just getting pathetic. The BR leaders are about to have their asses handed to them when St. George passes easily and they'll all realize the lack of influence they actually have.

St. George has made me lose all respect for so many locals. Lipsey is at the top of the list because he has been showing his arse for months now. Skip just got added to it. frick them. I hope October 12 destroys their egos.

It was sarcasm.

At least NBR will have 2 zoos when SG happens.

I think it'll pass easily. I have 8 voting-age family members who live in SG and all have either already voted yes or will vote yes on October 12. All of my friends who live in St. George say they're voting yes, and I believe them as they're strong conservatives who hate Broome.

I think the city throwing out and endless barrage of washed up local celebrities to come out against it shows they know it will pass too and are doing their best to persuade those who haven't vote yet in a last ditch effort. I'm shocked that they haven't marched Kip Holden up there yet.

At that press event last week, Broome received help in her quest to block the controversial incorporation from business leaders who claimed creating another city would adversely impact the parish's school system and stunt the city-parish's trajectory of growth due to all the financial uncertainty surrounding St. George. The proposed city will have a population of around 86,000 people and would become one of the largest municipalities in the state.

upward trajectory of growth for EBR parish? It lost residents for the past two years in a row and the state has lost residents as well.

Figures with Skip. His entire game plan as AD was to raise fees on all season ticket holders.

Those fees are one of the reasons we're still so competitive. I sometimes look at other schools season ticket fees and ours are peanuts compared to a lot of our peers.

Why are we not united or would never be united? We're all EBRP. The Mayor's title is actually Mayor-President of ALL EBRP.

Exactly.

Never have I ever been sitting on the couch reading some celeb/athlete's opinions in the newspaper or see it on tv, and think..."Well said. Their worthless input just had a profound impact on my being. Let me go vote like they said." GTFO.

Rolling these fools (retired baseball coaches or "local" businessmen who don't live in StG area) out repeatedly does nothing but fire up the educated and informed voters anyways. And we're the ones whose tax dollars they want to keep stealing! I hope they keep doing it.

I agree with you on that. I think will backfire on them. I think a lot of people that will have the opportunity to vote for St. George will see what they are trying to do and vote for St. George. No one has ever accused Broomstick of being smart

I am not sure why Saint George is such a problem for people. If people want to get together and run their own lives and build a city, that is what this country is built on.

Bingo. A few months ago Exxon was public enemy #1 in BR with the ITEP stuff and run by a bunch of "racist greedy rich old white guys." Now The Advocate is in love with those same men and they are fonts of wisdom and virtue that we should all strive to be more like. So... they were looking out for their best interests before, but now they just want to save us from ourselves? GTFO.
